Your hormones are shifting. Your care should keep up.

Perimenopause can start years before your period changes, and most labs still read “normal” while you feel anything but.

The Root Cause

It's not just “getting older.”

Perimenopause isn't a single event. It's a gradual hormonal shift that can start a decade before your final period. The usual approach treats each symptom on its own: a sleep aid here, an antidepressant there. That rarely gets to what's actually happening underneath.

I look at the whole picture: estrogen, progesterone, thyroid, adrenal function, gut health, to understand how your hormones are shifting, and build a plan around your biology, not a generic protocol.

Common Questions

Perimenopause FAQ

How is perimenopause different from menopause?

Perimenopause is the transitional years leading up to menopause, when hormone levels start to fluctuate unpredictably, sometimes a decade before periods stop entirely. Menopause is the point after 12 consecutive months without a period.

What lab testing do you use?

Beyond standard bloodwork, I use specialized hormone panels that look at estrogen, progesterone, thyroid, and adrenal function together, since these systems influence each other constantly.

Do you prescribe hormone replacement therapy?

When appropriate, yes, alongside nutrition, lifestyle, and supplement support. The goal is the most effective, least invasive path back to feeling like yourself.

How soon will I feel better?

It varies by person, but most patients start noticing changes within the first 6–8 weeks of their personalized plan, with continued improvement as we fine-tune based on your results.

My bloodwork already came back normal. Why do I still feel off?

Standard reference ranges are wide, and most primary care panels don't test the full hormone picture. “Normal” on a basic panel doesn't rule out perimenopause. It usually just means the right tests weren't run yet.

Do you accept insurance?

Wellness.Balance.You. doesn't bill insurance directly, so I'm not limited by what a plan will or won't cover. I can provide a receipt for your visit that you may submit for out-of-network reimbursement, and HSA/FSA funds can typically be used for consultations, labs, and supplements.
