Your thyroid affects everything. Let's actually test it.

Most providers check TSH and call it done. I look at the full picture: TSH, free T3, free T4, reverse T3, and antibodies.

The Root Cause

Beyond the standard panel

Many providers only check TSH and T4, a fraction of the picture. I order a full thyroid panel (TSH, free T4, free T3, reverse T3) plus antibodies, because autoimmune thyroid disease, like Hashimoto's, is one of the most common causes of hypothyroidism and easy to miss with narrow testing.

Diet, lifestyle, and environment all shape thyroid health. Personalized lab testing looks at your whole system, not just one gland in isolation, so your treatment plan actually matches what's driving your symptoms.

Common Questions

Thyroid FAQ

Why isn't a normal TSH enough?

TSH alone misses a lot. Free T3, free T4, reverse T3, and thyroid antibodies together tell a much fuller story. Many people with a normal TSH still have real thyroid dysfunction underneath.

What is Hashimoto's disease?

Hashimoto's is an autoimmune condition where your immune system attacks your thyroid, and it's one of the most common causes of hypothyroidism in the US. Antibody testing is how we catch it.

Do you treat hyperthyroidism too?

Yes. The same root-cause approach applies whether your thyroid is under- or overactive.

Will I need medication?

Sometimes, yes, and that's fine. The goal isn't to avoid medication at all costs; it's to combine the right treatment with the lifestyle and nutrition factors that actually support thyroid function.

How soon will I feel better?

Thyroid treatment tends to be gradual. Many patients notice initial changes in energy within 4–6 weeks, with fuller results over a few months as levels stabilize.

Do you accept insurance?

Wellness.Balance.You. doesn't bill insurance directly, so I'm not limited by what a plan will or won't cover. I can provide a receipt for your visit that you may submit for out-of-network reimbursement, and HSA/FSA funds can typically be used for consultations, labs, and supplements.
